Samantha, young dwarf girl, grows up on the frozen frontier — the surface — before her family is abruptly moved to Darva’s capital city, deep underground! She faces a new environment, new challenges, and an unrelenting superstition; held not only by her peers but even by the adults. Things only get worse when an influx of strangers threaten to throw the Academy into chaos!

This is my first novella! It’s an upbeat “slice of life” story that kicks off a mild fantasy/adventure series meant to be wholesome and relatively lighthearted. The themes will become more serious as the series progresses, but the heart of it will always be the celebration of virtues like love, kindness, forgiveness, empathy, and of course, Courage!
